Teen Forced to Remove Car Sound Equipment

ALEXANDRIA, La. - A judge has ordered a teenager who blasted his pickup truck stereo to remove all non-factory installed sound equipment for violating a noise ordinance.

Calvin Bennett Jr., 18, got the loud-music ticket in 2004 but missed his initial court appearance. Last Monday, he was arrested for contempt of court and spent the night in jail. He appeared Tuesday before district Judge Thomas Yeager on the loud-music citation.

The teen pleaded guilty, got a 90-day sentence suspended and was given probation. As a condition of probation, he had to turn in his drivers license for 30 days and remove his stereo equipment.

Yeager said he ordered the sentence to try to deter young adults from disturbing their communities with loud music. "It is a big problem but one that has a solution," he said.

The Pineville and Alexandria police departments stay busy fielding loud-music complaints. Both cities have ordinances addressing loud noise, including drivers playing their radios too loudly.

"The sentence isn't going to stop me playing music," Bennett said. "I love my music."

Then we move onto Anna's Party at Jamie's. one word. BEAT. Stopped in for an hour after work and Sean and Anna wanted to leave. Nick came and went. Some person backed into my car as I watched. I even set off the panic button and the drove off. People I swear. So I dropped jobless, carless Sean and Anna off at Anna's and drove home. On the way, I was listening to my wonderful XM Radio and a 3 Doors Down song came on.

And I was like that seems to be my take on life. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to reach the goals I want. Right now my goal is Senior of my Dept. My managers are like why would you want that? Mike, the manager at Towson made S & I Manager in 4 months. Warehouse to Asst Manager to S & I Manager. Brian has applyed for and gotten the Asst Manager job at Catonsville. Time with Circuit City: 9 Months. Jeremy my buddy and Assistant Manager time with Circuit City: 5 months. I have been there 6 months now and get no respect. Drives me nuts. I have these goals, these dreams and its like im on the Titanic. I reach out for them and sink below. Blah.

Woman convicted of rape

In a landmark case a 23-year-old woman has been convicted by a Bergen court for the rape of a 31-year-old man.

The woman was sentenced to nine months in prison and ordered to pay NOK 40,000 (USD 6,385) to the man.

The incident occurred on Jan. 4 last year in a Bergen apartment. The man testified that he fell asleep on a sofa and woke up to find the woman performing oral sex on him.

The woman eventually admitted sexual contact but claimed that it was voluntary and that the man was willing and smiled.

The case has attracted attention and is the first time a Norwegian woman has been charged with raping a man.
